The Compass Phonics and Spelling Log prepares students for literacy through a hybrid approach. It combines and expands on Common Core Reading Foundational Skills phonics strategies - geared tward native speakers of English - with linguistics support for English language learners.
The Compass Phonics and Spelling Log presents students with patterns of English word structure and sound-spelling combinations so that they can become fluent readers and decode unfamiliar words effectively. With extensive audio support, the Compass Phonics and Spelling Log also helps students identify, pronounce and write words with sounds that may be unfamiliar or challenging to speakers of other languages. Students are guided to understand and apply concepts through fun and intuitive activities with age - and level - appropriate vocabulary.
